Huskies fall at #13 Creighton

Storrs, Conn. – The women’s volleyball team lost to Creighton in Omaha in three sets on Sunday afternoon.

The first set started at a very even pace for both sides. Creighton would slowly flee from UConn, but not without a fight. UConn would go on a 3-0 run to trail just one, 24-23. However, Creighton’s Ava Martin would add five kills to help the Blue Jays win a tight set, 25-23.

The Blue Jays would find more separation in the second set as they collected eight blocks at the end of the set. Norah Sis would also add to her total kills in the set with 11. Allie Garland and Kennadie Jake Turner would combine for 12 kills, but it wouldn’t be enough as Creighton would go on to win the second set, 25-15.

The third set started strong for the Huskies as they scored 3-0 to take a 4-1 lead. UConn would later take a 21-18 lead with Garland to 10 kills, but the momentum changed again as the Blue Jays finished the game taking the last seven straight points and winning in three sets.

The Huskies will be looking forward to another Big East game against DePaul on Saturday, November 12. The first service is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game can be streamed live on Flo Sports.
