LEGO Seasonal Valentine Lovebirds (40522) Review
LEGO has just released the LEGO Seasonal Valentine Lovebirds (40522) which has 286 pieces and sells for $ 12.99. We had the set in hand a bit earlier to check if it is on par with Valentine’s Day sets from previous years.
The set comes in six numbered bags and two instruction booklets, one for each bird. While the set isn’t listed as a Build Together set, both booklets allow a couple to build the set at the same time which is pretty cool.

Birds are built like the BrickHeadz with SNOT techniques. It’s a very simple build, but there are a lot of details to do. Lots of pieces of tile are used to cover the exposed studs all around with just a few scraps. The first bird is predominantly orange in color in the head and chest areas with a color gradient change as you descend towards the body.

The other bird has the exact same build, but the colors have been changed slightly to distinguish them with the head being mostly a bright yellow color.

As with the previous seasonal sets, there is also a base that goes with the main builds and for the lovebirds there is a small branch they can stand on. The branch actually looks a bit realistic with green twigs sticking out of it. There is also a bunch of pink and magenta hearts splashed on it. The two birds are sitting on the parts of the turntable and there is enough room to turn them. To complete the build, there is a floating heart on the back.

Overall this LEGO Seasonal Valentine Lovebirds (40522) is a very cute set that many will enjoy. The fact that the build can be built simultaneously by two people makes it even better. If you are on a Valentine’s Day date this set would definitely be a fun activity.

Thanks to LEGO for sending this set so I can review it. The above content represents my own opinion and not that of the company. Sent review sets do not guarantee a positive review.
